Ovni 395. 3 Cabins Version - REDUCED to Euro 178,000 Neg.

Configuration – The highlights:

Stored our of the water several months each year

3 cabin version with several unique interior design elements for Blue Water sailing (all executed at the Alubat factory)

2015 Soda-blasted the entire bottom to bare metal and started again with multiple layers of inter-coat. At the same time we raised the anti-fouling 2 inches.

Owners searched out and replaced a new and improved version of the hydraulic rudder piston and replaced it just last month (August 2019). For those who know OVNI’s, the rudder piston is the “Achilles heel” of the design. The new one should solve this.

Centerboard is lifted with hydraulics (no metal pole in center of salon)

Second STBD settee is replaced with oversized chart table and…

Separate shower, with a sink.

The forward cabin can be completely opened to the salon

There is no step in the main salon (as on other 395’s)

All sailing can be done from cockpit (including 3 single-line reefs in main)

Sail locker forward

Running back-stays for staysail

Salt water floor pump at galley sink

Countertops in Corian

Stereo system with stereo speakers in salon and cockpit (ipod, Bluetooth and CD inputs)

--------------------

A fine example of an enhanced 3 cabins version of the 395 with many extra features presented in beautiful condition. This boat is the third Ovni 395 built by Alubat and as it was built for the Annapolis boat show it has a unique interior, which was designed with separate shower and head area, a flat floor (most Ovnis have a step in the middle of the boat, and several other very valuable features such as the extra large navigation area and forward cabin which can be completely opened to the salon, to further improve live on board.

Ovni yachts, built by Alubat in France, are perhaps one of the most widely known and internationally recognized cruising yachts in the world. There are few yachts as admired and displaying as many qualities in each of their models as an Ovni. From France to Australia, the USA or South Africa, almost anyone, even without much knowledge of yacht builders, will know Ovni, and for those who don't, one look at them is enough to plainly see that this is a yacht far above the rest. These boats have been designed with the ocean in mind, and intended for long distance cruising. All the Ovni owners we have met in 10 years of working with cruising sailors have said that if they ever purchased another boat, it would have to be an Ovni again.

Their first attribute is their strength. As Alubat's moto clearly demonstrate 'In the middle of the ocean, the real luxury, is safety'

All Ovni boats are built from 5083 H 111 aluminum (hulls, decks, roofs and cockpits )and are fully assembled and welded in an Argon / Helium atmosphere. They are welded inside and out for extra security. Interior woodwork is in oak, with white vinyl headlining. Lead ballast is encapsulated in resin.

This 3 cabin 395 is fully insulated above the waterline and has many unique design features, as well as substantial improvements both inside and out.

"Q" has a lifting keel which gives her an enviable minimum draft of 58cm with the keel up and an impressive draft of 1.92 with the keel down.  The most popular Ovnis for cruisers are the lifting keel version, as the boat is then immensely manageable around atolls and reefs, and can easily be beached for cleaning. With its 58cm minimum draft, you can go virtually anywhere.

The smooth and accurate helm control will say a lot for its nautical qualities: remaining both stiff in a breeze and efficient in performance. It is a Philippe Briand design after all!

With her generous forms and the quality of the installed amenities aboard, this boat will offer you exceptional comfort on board, both at sea and at anchor.  The cabins are large, and the main cabin is spacious with enough space around the table to facilitate circulation.  Interior wood is light oak, which contributes to a bright, modern feel without losing the traditional feel of a skilfully built yacht, where curved angles, joinery, cabinetry and attention to details are immediately obvious and far above what is often built these days.

‘Q’, was chosen by this discerning couple to go and explore the world in safety and comfort. During this time, this amazing little yacht has been cherished as she deserves, and is now reluctantly offered for sale as their idyllic cruise around the world is coming to an end. The yacht is currently in Vanuatu but soon to depart for New Caledonia, where it can be inspected at any time with a little notice, as the owners will sail back from the outer islands to be closer to the airport to facilitate your meeting and inspection.

A WORD FROM THE OWNER:

Launched December 2004 – Q is the 3rdOVNI 395 produced by Alubat. The interior layout is unique as it was designed as a display boat for the Annapolis Boat show (the boat was featured in 2006 Sail Magazine).

First owner was architect based in St. Martin. We purchase Ataraxia in 2008 in St. Martin and named her “Q”. We sailed the boat home to Lake Champlain, NY and prepared her for our first sailing sabbatical to the Caribbean in 2008-9. Boat was stored on the hard in Grenada for her first hurricane season.

Boat then returned to the US (Annapolis area and Florida East and West Coast) and was constantly upgraded to prepare for our Pacific sailing trips 2015 – 2019. Boat was always stored on the hard during hurricane or cyclone season. Boat spent Pacific cyclone seasons in:

-      2015 Raiatea, FP

-      2016 Vuda, Fiji

-      2017 Noumea, NC

-      2018 Port Vila, Vanuatu
