-------------

The ketch rig provides amazing sail configurations suitable for all points of sail in all different weather conditions.

The high freeboards and lifelines provide safety and security when moving forward underway.

All the working sheets and self tailing winches are inside the cockpit giving ease and workability for captain and crew.  Freya is easily sailed and managed single-handed.

The commercial grade bimini withstands high winds and is completely water tight underway. The commercial grade eisenglass panels provide a fully enclosed cockpit for those wet and rough passages and give a 360 degree view.

Freya due to her construction is a solid safe yacht for any ocean passage making those aboard feel very secure.

The galley, midship and starboard side, is situated directly at the bottom of the stairwell making it soo easy to get to. The galley square shape for any cook and chef is soo workable with all counter tops and appliances within arms length.

The engine room containing engine, water heater and generator is situated under the salon floor with easily accessible opening floor panels making maintenance and all repairs very simple. The Captain can easily stand up in this area and is safe out of weather conditions and on hot days with the air conditioning running makes for a comfortable workspace.

All the cabins are very spacious especially the main aft cabin with a walk around bed

The main head has a sit down bathtub/shower perfect for those times when you are on a passage and need a shower in safety and comfort.

The refrigerator and freezer capacity on Freya is unbelievable… a free standing dometic portable which keeps vegetables at a constant temperature for weeks on end, a Norcold stand up fridge freezer for all your daily needs and the incredible  deep freeze that will hold enough frozen food for 6 months cruising.

The owner write: "Freya gives us soo much comfort and pleasure.  We have always felt soo safe and secure in her ability to handle everything that we have been through as full time sailors and cruisers. For 14 years Louis had been a multihull convert until he hopped aboard Freya. Freya proved to him that this yacht could handle anything high seas, high winds, low winds, different sailing tacks and much more."

A Ted Irwin 1984 MK 11 52ft Ketch Monohull design.
Ted’s innovative design blends luxurious accommodations and easy sail handling in a fast hull. The Irwin philosophy was simply to build a good boat - make her stylish and fast - stable and comfortable.
Irwin was proud to have built more cruising sailboats over 50’ than any other boat builder in the world. Over 6,000 yachts have been built. Over 300 Irwin 52, 54, 65, and 68s are sailing around the globe.
Freya boasts a 4 sail configuration to include Genoa and storm sail roller furling, in-mast main sail and mizzen sail in a stack pack all controlled from the centre cockpit for easy safe handling.
Louis and Jules have delivered both multihulls and catamarans up to 72ft worldwide. As full time sailors and cruisers of 19 years on various sail yachts including trimarans, and catamarans and other monohulls Louis and Jules became very knowledgeable as to what is important for a blue water cruising yacht.

The Irwin 52 Ketch monohull proved to be all that and more.

Freya circumnavigated the Caribbean for four years in all different sailing directions, configurations and in various weather conditions proving she was a true safe blue water sailing vessel. In 2018 Freya crossed the Panama Canal completing the Pacific passage from Panama via Galapagos to French Polynesia, Cook Islands, Tonga, New Zealand to Fiji.

Louis and Jules are embarking on a new adventure and would welcome you to consider Freya as the yacht of your choice.
