Nautilus Yacht Management specializes in quality blue water cruising yachts and as such it is with great pleasure that offer for sale this one-owner, beautifully presented Le Mikado Grande Croisieres 'Sealight Star' .
This Mikado Grande Croisieres was carefully built the renowned CNDS chantiers naval Constructions Nautiques du Sud-Ouest (FRANCE) , and designed by the illustrious Michel Bigoin, a French naval architect famous for designing luxury yachts such as superyachts XARGO, Attila, or the 75m Phocea. 'Sealight Star' is an astonishing example of endurance, strength and seaworthiness in all latitudes and ocean conditions.
In spite of her 56', and technically one of the smallest yacht designed by Michel Bigoin, 'Sealight Star' packs many of the superyacht features while remaining easy to handle for two people. Her interesting layout and maximizing use of her space makes her an ideal live-aboard or skippered charter vessel.
Her first and only owners for the past 30 years, a charming Swiss couple, sailed her more than 100,000 nautical miles around the world, from the arctic to the south Pacific.
Over the years, this remarkable ship was always kept in immaculate condition, and in 2000 and 2009 given a major overhaul, complete with new paint, new interior, overhauled engine, rig, mast and sails, new bow thruster, hydraulic furling, etc. 'Sealight Star' can comfortably continue her odyssey with her new owners without anything needed to be spent.
Stepping on board this mighty ocean voyager, one is immediately impressed by her size and evident strength. From the heavy, incredibly thick hull, to the oversize rig and deck fittings, safe decks and intelligently fitted out steering stations, it is obvious that 'Sealight Star' is a yacht meant to explore the far reaches of the world.
This Mikado Grande Croisieres was the last of only three built as pilothouse. It is a unique design, in which the deck saloon and bridge is on the same, elevated level, with ideal visibility and the advantage to be able to pilot the yacht from the warmth and safety of the cabin. The navigation area is immediately adjacent to the saloon and steerage, where the pilot and crew can keep an eye on the instruments in ultimate comfort. The second steering station is in the cockpit, which is well protected from the element and set up to be able to control every sail without having to venture on deck.
The deck saloon is beautifully furnished with solid timber throughout and a comfortable, curving settee in light cream leather where one an admire the 360 view over the ocean. There is a flat screen TV / DVD to starboard, beautiful glass-fronted cabinetry and a long window allowing to see down into the galley.
Leading forward down a few steps is a generously proportioned cabin to port with a double berth and ensuite to a head and shower. As with the rest of the boat, the presentation and condition is a credit to the yacht's owners. From the timber floor to the solid teak fit-out, beautiful joinery, cabinetry, and quality of the furnishing, this yacht demonstrate in every aspect the love and care she has always been given. To starboard is another similarly proportioned double cabin. There is a second heads compartment adjacent, and another double cabin with twin berths forward.
A few steps down from the saloon and parallel to it is the huge and well appointed galley, which offers plenty of food preparation areas, quality appliances and abundant storage.
The master cabin is past the galley and occupies the whole mid to aft section of the yacht. It is absolutely huge and beautifully appointed, with a large island double bed, huge amount of storage, and of course access to its own luxurious ensuite.
'Sealight Star' is designed to be self-sufficient for extended length of time and can cater to both water and power demands for up to 8 people comfortably and as such makes an ideal world explorer for a family or as a charter / exploration vessel. Complete with workshop, numerous tools, vice, and a huge quantity of spare parts, she is ready to set sail now with her lucky new owners.
